OUTREACH

At Christ The King we have a team of parishioners committed to the specialised ministry of reaching out to our neighbors who do not currently attend church. We go out into our neighborhood to introduce ourselves and to invite everyone to Christ The King.

We want others to know personally the love of God through Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit. We want to welcome our neighbors to becoming disciples of Jesus and members of His Church.

We are inspired by Jesus calling us to evangelize.............

"And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” (Closing words of St. Matthew's Gospel.)

In Paragraph 24 of his EVANGELII GAUDIUM - (The Joy of The Gospel) Pope Francis calls us all to be Missionary Disciples. "The Church which “goes forth” is a community of missionary disciples who take the first step, who are involved and supportive, who bear fruit and rejoice. An evangelizing community knows that the Lord has taken the initiative, he has loved us first (cf. 1 Jn 4:19), and therefore we can move forward, boldly take the initiative, go out to others......."
